Summer 2016 Footwear Trends: Part One

As a fellow footwear enthusiast, I'm here to share some fun summer styles! These trendy designs I'm about to highlight can vary from being the statement piece to your outfit, or a timeless trend that would compliment a variety of occasions.

So to start things off, let's talk about... Ghillies! What defines this style? This type of shoe is tongueless, low-cut, and has functional laces that criss-cross over the instep.

This trend can be equally functional as fashionable! Why you ask? Because of the full adjustability that the laces provide, this style accommodates the full spectrum of foot sizes. Wide to narrow feet, high to low instep? No problem! Ghillies got your back.

Traditional ghillies have loops instead of eyelets, but let's include some beautiful shoes that are made with both! For instance, we have some trendy shoes that have the added bonus of being designed by... Chie Mihara! Achieve this aura of trendiness with these incredibly comfortable yet wonderfully bohemian shoes:

Imagine these shoes with some denim capris. Love it! Also we have this pair in deep blue as well if you wanted more of a fun statement to your summer wardrobe.

This style can even compliment a more formal occasion. Kenneth Cole utilized this idea by making this metallic shoe below. I think this particular style could compliment a formal dress to even casual wear. This particular pair could bring out a metallic belt or accent silver jewellery.

Another trend to worth a shout-out would be fringe! An ornamental border of threads (usually hung loosely) is a retro motif that makes a fun fashion statement in today's shoes.

We are quite excited about a fun bootie that is pretty versatile for everyday wear. This fringed bootie would look fantastic with a casual dress or, as pictured below, looks great with tight-fitted pants. Pair them with some loose fitting jeans to be bring back the beloved fashion statements of the 70s. Trends repeat themselves!

Well that's all for today folks! Come visit us soon for more tips and trick to have fun with this summer's 2016 trends.
